We transport dangerous goods only as LQ (Limited Quantity) shipments. The sender is always responsible<\/strong> for ensuring that the goods are packed and marked in accordance with regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any shipment violating applicable legislation or Pakettipiste\u2019s terms and conditions cannot be accepted or delivered. The legislation is based on the Model Regulations published by the UN concerning the recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods (the so-called \u2018Orange Book\u2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limited Quantity (LQ) shipments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When shipped in limited quantities, dangerous goods are packed in smaller primary packaging units. This allows for dangerous goods that would otherwise be prohibited from transport to be shipped through us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that many dangerous goods cannot be shipped in limited quantities. You can check the applicability of limited quantities for specific substances, for example, in the legal compilation concerning the transport of dangerous goods by road (available in Finnish, \u2018Vaarallisten aineiden kuljetus tiell\u00e4\u2019) or the Traficom search service for transport of dangerous goods<\/a> (also in Finnish).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most up-to-date search for the transport of dangerous goods (\u2018VAK\u2019) is available at the Traficom website. Column (7a) specifies the maximum quantities for dangerous goods transported as Limited Quantity shipments, per primary packaging or item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When shipped in limited quantities, dangerous goods must be packed in suitable primary packaging that is placed inside tertiary packaging. Secondary packaging may be used where necessary. The packaging must be capable of withstanding the standard rigours of transport throughout the transport chain. The packaging must be prepared and sealed in such a way that no contents can escape from the package once it is ready for shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total gross mass of an LQ transport unit must not exceed 30 kg. The total gross mass of a pallet with shrink or stretch wrap must not exceed 20 kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transport units containing dangerous goods in limited quantities must be indicated with an LQ label on one side:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where necessary, orientation arrow labels must also be affixed to the transport unit, such as for combination packaging where the primary packaging contains liquids. See Traficom\u2019s regulation on the use of orientation arrows for more detailed information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the shipped substance or item is exempt from other regulations concerning the transport of dangerous goods, this must be indicated on the shipping label.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
