Customer story: Rengastien Autotarvike

“Cooperation with Pakettipiste has allowed us to improve our logistics considerably. Shipments are picked up from our warehouse at Seinäjoki in the evening and delivered to our customers across the country early next morning. Our customers have been very satisfied with our service and the improved logistics,” says Satu Savunen from Rengastien Autotarvike Oy.

Rengastien Autotarvike Oy is a family-owned business established in 1993 and headquartered in Seinäjoki. The company also includes Auto-Bilman in Vaasa and Korpi-Auto in Kajaani. Its customers are located all over Finland and include both consumers and hundreds of automotive companies from spare part retailers and repair shops to car dealers and small appliance repair services.

Improving logistics is a priority

“The market for car spare parts has seen some major changes which we have been able to navigate very well. Lots of new entrepreneurs have entered the Finnish market, but not everyone has been able to adapt to the changes. We have persistently developed all aspects of our business and reacted quickly to changes. This has brought us solid and steady growth in recent years. Improving logistics has been one of our priorities, and we have succeeded well, thanks to our great partners,” says Jan Koskela, the Chief Executive Officer of Rengastien Autotarvike.

Rengastien Autotarvike has expanded in recent years: they have hired new employees and seen an increase in shipment volumes.

“It is hard to say where our competitors are at exactly, but it seems we have done something right. While we have been constantly hiring more workforce, many of our competitors have been faced with change negotiations,” says Koskela.

Customers thankful for early delivery

As Rengastien Autotarvike expanded its operations, it needed to identify the logistics companies available. The company researched their options extensively before settling into a decision. A customer hinted at the possibility of using Pakettipiste, and after a smooth negotiation process the companies partnered in early 2023.

“Pakettipiste’s extensive area of operation and early delivery to customers fit our concept really well. We place high value on an effective complete solution and appreciate a partner that is easy to reach in case of any questions,” says Satu Savunen who is in charge of Rengastien Autotarvike’s logistics.

Our customers are thankful for the early delivery which has been a nice surprise in many locations, Savunen continues.

“We are shipping out more parcels by the day. Our customers have clearly began to rely on the parcels arriving on an agreed schedule. This has, for its part, improved our sales. Our customers appreciate that our logistics department actively tracks all shipments. We inform them if a parcel is running late.”

Savunen singles out speed and reliability as the most important factors for Rengastien Autotarvike. Often, the company’s customers have their car at the repair shop which is waiting for a spare part to be delivered by Pakettipiste.

“The end user wants their car as soon as possible, making speed and reliability very important. Early delivery is of high importance in these cases as well. If we were to ask our customers, everyone would want to be the first to receive the day’s parcels, as early as possible.”

Rengastien Autotarvike listens to its customers and strives to tailor its services according to their wishes. Savunen remarks that Pakettipiste is a great partner for meeting these needs.

Savunen feels that, as a whole, the cooperation is commendable: everything that is agreed on is taken care of without exception.

“As our parcel volumes grow, it is essential that our customer service has a good response rate and is able to react quickly to any issues. Pakettipiste has consistently improved in this area as well.”
